SUMMARY:Equity Reading Circle - mid November
DESCRIPTION:aequa Equity Book Circle is a space dedicated to learning\, connecting\, exchanging\, and engaging with the social movement work we believe in. We come to this circle because there is a lot we don’t know\, and exploring together feels rewarding in a special way. We also come to this circle because we don’t want our individual & communal knowledge gaps to remain an excuse that stops us from being active. \n\n\n\nOur work aims at sharing resources\, testing structures\, reaffirming motivations\, visiting history\, finding focus\, encouraging curiosity. In the past\, we’ve dug into the subjects such as: climate justice\, queer & feminist approaches to movement work\, materialist “spirituality” for responding to change\, stories of refugee women in Germany\, education as a tool for liberation\, poetry attending to the postcolonial world. A central agreement we have is based on mutual aid: we aim to make room for everyone’s fluctuating capacity\, so that we each alternately feed and get fed by the group’s energy. \n\n\n\nWant to join? Respond to this email or write hello@aequa.cc to be added to our list. \n\n\n\nOur current book is Revolting Prostitutes: The Fight For Sex Workers’ Rights by Molly Smith and Juno Mac

(More information on Neurodiversity here and here)This group will be held in English.WHAT IS A PEER SUPPORT GROUP?Peer Support Groups are a chance for a group of individuals with a common experience (in this case being neurodivergent) to collaborate to solve problems they share. We will be able to voice our challenges\, and then be giving each other feedback\, advice and ideas to help us conquer them. This is a great opportunity to help someone struggling with the same challenges or share how you overcame them. This is the pilot meeting in our newly founded Neurodivergent Peer Support Group. Our aim is to co-organise these meetings as a group and maintain its horizontal structure\, so anyone is welcome to step up as a facilitator. No prior experience with facilitation is needed. It’s a valuable skill for anyone and we will teach you how to do it in the safe space of the group.HOW IT WORKSWe’ll kick off the the group by having a structured conversation led by facilitators where everyone can introduce themselves\, and share either their struggles or experiences around living their life as a neurodivergent individual. We’ll then brainstorm possible ways how to support each other and decide on the future development and structure of this group. There will be a 10-minute access break in the middle of the session.WHO IS THE PEER SUPPORT GROUP FOR?aequa Peer Support Groups give folks with certain affinities (for example: similar interests\, challenges or experiences) the chance to offer mutual support in the form of peer-to-peer mentorship\, feedback\, advice and discussion. This also gives a forum to wrestle with how those with shared challenges or advantages can help to build a more equitable future for all.WHO CAN JOIN?The Neurodivergent Peer Support Group is for anyone who is neurodivergent regardless of official diagnoses or lack thereof. Neurotypical people with neurodivergent partners or kids are welcome too. This meetup is for anyone with an open\, respectful\, and collaborative mindset.Prior attendance of a PSG meetup or aequa event is not required.RSVP here to join and get the Zoom link. https://airtable.com/shrLpVNPfUKPLu8FJABOUT AEQUAaequa is a community for social equity — a network of people united by our shared vision of a world in which everyone can thrive. SUMMARY:aequa Library first event 📚
DESCRIPTION:aequa’s Equity Library is opening its doors on the evening of December 10th for a collective reading and book swapping event.From 6.30pm to 7pm\, we will share some food and get to know each other. \n\n\n\nFrom 7pm to 7.45pm\, we will read each other texts that speak of “Home” and that also resonate with the mission of the aequa library. Home might be a feeling you miss\, a challenge you didn’t ask for\, a welcomed relief\, or an exciting journey. It might be something constant or ever-changing. Together we will travel through reading and gift ourselves a moment to reflect on stories from home. \n\n\n\nThen we will take a short break and from 8pm to 8.45pm\, we will book swap! There will be one table for lending to each other and one table for trading. Bring any book(s)\, zine(s)\, DVD(s)\, etc. that you think should be shared with the world and get ready to be curious about what others want to share with you !  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is an in-person event at aequa CC (Exerzierstr 14). aequa’s Covid-19 Hygiene concept This event is “3G+”: everyone should have a test ahead of time\, if possible with digital/official results. Vaccination alone is not sufficient. If more than 20 people attend\, then masks are mandatory. Below that number\, we’ll find consensus of what feels safe between us. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe library’s mission\n\n\n\nThe Equity Library was created in the summer of 2020 to meet an unfulfilled need. A small group of readers\, writers\, book collectors and activists came together online and began to dream of a community resource that highlights marginalised writers and subjects connecting to the work of the aequa community – solidarity\, mutual support\, and social equity. Precisely the resources often missing from mainstream libraries. \n\n\n\nWe imagined a space not only to lend out books and zines but for people to connect to others when they want to\, to exchange thoughts and ideas. We imagined community members discovering the library one day and finding an unexpected gem on the shelves – a book they’d always wanted to read\, or something surprising that would take their learning in a new direction. We imagined the moment in which they found a resource that made them feel more seen and less alone. \n\n\n\nLater in the year\, we began to pool these resources from donations and to create the structures needed to run the project. The work of organising a library brought us together as an international and horizontal collective and created a caring space to dream together under a winter of pandemic lockdowns. aequa community supporters -volunteers\, co-workers and members of working groups – began to make appointments to take out resources and told us how much they enjoyed them. The library was becoming real! \n\n\n\nNow that the community centre that hosts the library is open again\, more is possible and our dreams are expanding. More book events. More discussion groups. More spaces for people to sit quietly together and enjoy the materials we’ve been so fortunate to receive. \n\n\n\nWe’re excited to start on this new part of the library journey and if you’d like to join us in organising it\, or become a member of the library itself\, we look forward to hearing from you at aequa dot library at gmail dot com.

SUMMARY:aequa open house *Dec 24-Jan 2*
DESCRIPTION:[DE unten] \n\n\n\nThis event is 3G plus (Vaccinated\, recovered\, tested plus medical masks and a negative covid test within 24 hours.) \n\n\n\nIf more than 20 people confirm on one day\, the space become 2G plus (Vaccinated\, recovered plus medical masks and a negative covid test within 24 hours.) \n\n\n\nMore general details on our events\, our Covid hygiene concept\, and access information for the community centre. \n\n\n\nGetting presents\, planning and preparing holiday dinners\, organizing family activities and gathering everyone together. And all this in a festively decorated home\, carefully prepared with homemade cookies on the table. The hairstyle is in place\, the dress is new and the mood is great. Or is it? This time of year is not always\, and especially not for everyone\, a celebration of love\, joy\, and harmony. Often stress\, sadness\, and loneliness interfere. For many people\, moreover\, these days are increasingly becoming a serious burden. \n\n\n\nOur doors remain open to all who look for some company. Let’s read books together\, play games\, do crafts or just hang out. The offer depends on the demand and the current COVID situation. Should we be allowed to meet and feel safe doing so\, the aequa Community Centre will be open from December 24 to January 2\, between 3pm and 9pm. There is the possibility to join via Zoom. If we can’t meet in person\, there will be an online option where you can drop in when and for how long you want. For easier coordination and communication\, we have created a Telegram chat for this. If you are interested in attending the aequa Open House\, feel free to join the chat (https://t.me/+Xpcz2bmf4lYwNDRi).Warmly\, Charlie from aequa \n\n\n\n=== \n\n\n\nEs handelt sich um eine 3G plus Veranstaltung (geimpft\, genesen\, getestet\, medizinische Masken und ein negativer Covid-Test der letzten 24 Stunden).

SUMMARY:“Eat ‘N Talk Series” #1 by The Momentum Table
DESCRIPTION:In the Majority world\, every aspect of community life happens around food. This is how news\, information\, or opinions are shared and discussed\, may they be happy\, intense\, or controversial. In this same spirit\, the “Eat ‘n Talk Series” by The Momentum Table want to open conversations with and among African\, Afro-diasporic and Afro-descendant communities\, off the beaten tracks of white and Western readings of our realities. \n\n\n\nIn a perspective of unpacking the rich and complex historiographies of the African continent\, Namareg and Jihad are discussing Land & Identity in Northern Africa in the first event of the series. An open conversation with participants wants to look into power dynamics governing access to Land and dispossession from it\, in the past until today. We want to share our knowledges and create a space centering perspectives and stories in the shadows of colonial and hegemonic discourses. We want to explore similarities and differences in the evolution of Land politics in Northern Africa. We want to observe the Northern part of Africa as a space of movement and shared histories\, moving beyond the colonial divide between Africa North and South of the Sahara\, wrongly perceiving one of the largest deserts in the World as an idle space. \n\n\n\nDuring this participative conversation with all of you\, we will share a welcome drink and a gourmet 2 course meal prepared by the talented Private Chef\, while Namareg and Jihad will animate the discussion with input from their perspectives on areas of current Sudan and Morocco. \n\n\n\nThe “Eat ‘n Talk Series” conversations are meant to be a safer space. We envision this evening to be as enjoyable and delicious as informative and respectful. It is an exclusive private space for African\, Afro-diasporic and Afro-descendant BIPoCs. Please be weary of your positioning when participating. White persons (from inside and outside of Africa) and persons from an exclusively European descent are asked to refrain from participating. \n\n\n\n* Ticket price is 18€. If you cannot afford it\, please contact us and we can discuss a reduced price based on our capacities. If you can afford to donate more\, it will allow participants with reduced income to participate as well. \n\n\n\n*Corona rules: All participants are asked to bring a negative Covid-19 test delivered on the day of the event. \n\n\n\nPlease note that this is a pre-registration only : \n\n\n\nWe would like to keep our events running\, but due to corona we need to limit the number of participants to keep each other safe. \n\n\n\nFill in tis form as a first step. When your registration is processed\, you will receive an email with further details. Thank you for your understanding and we are looking forward to meeting you! \n\n\n\nhttps://docs.google.com/forms/d/136_gW8JjsXZ7Bp1MxU5j8xgae2Ef_-z92wZsIEzTx2o/edit \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nImportant : \n\n\n\nBring proof of an up-to-date negative test (15.01.2022)\, this applies also to vaccinated people. The E-ticket and certificate have to be on the same identification must be shown at the entrance .Visitors without a current test result or proof cannot be admitted.Light Masks will be provided to be worn all the time of the talk in queuing situations\, and at the toilets. Those who do not comply with these rules will be invited to leave.Tickets won’t be available at the door and are not refundable. We strongly discourage attending the event without an advance ticket purchased previously online.Being in possession of a ticket does not guarantee entry\, we reserve the right to deny the entrance\, refunds will be processed when this happens. If you should observe or experience an inappropriate situation\, please don’t hesitate to contact any of the The MomentumTable Team\, or our door crew.\n\n\n\nAny Additional Information ? Feel free to contact us \n\n\n\nContact momentumtable@tutanota.com or @momentumtableee on Instagram. \n\n\n\nThank you very much for your interest! \n\n\n\nThe MomentumTable Team

SUMMARY:Equity reading circle - January
Email us at  hello@aequa.cc to be added to our list. \n\n\n\nOur current book is Revolting Prostitutes: The Fight For Sex Workers’ Rights by Molly Smith and Juno Mac

SUMMARY:Un:seen Intermediate DJ Peer-Exchange Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first edition of the Un:seen x aequa Intermediate DJ Peer-Exchange Workshop! \n\n\n\nThis meetup will be held in English.THE SIGN UP FORM IS OPEN!https://airtable.com/shrUkKA0vXvQV7zh1The deadline for applications is Monday\, January 10th at CET 23:59.We look forward to reading your applications! While persons of any gender are welcome to apply\, please be mindful that this is a space primarily centered for people of marginalized gender backgrounds to be able to feel safe in developing their arts and career. \n\n\n\nWHAT IS THE Intermediate DJ Peer-Exchange Workshop? \n\n\n\nThis January\, we’re inviting intermediate DJs for a peer-led knowledge exchange and skill-sharing event. The motivation behind this was that\, while there are numerous beginners’ DJ workshops and resources\, once you’re comfortable with mixing on your equipment of choice\, there are not many public resources on where to go from there. We hope to address various topics ranging from mixing and musical knowledge to community building and career development – the exact topics will be determined by you\, the participants! We believe in the power of learning and growing with each other as part of a community\, and giving back by offering support to those on a journey to improve their craft\, and we think that this workshop is a great place to start. \n\n\n\nHOW IT WORKS \n\n\n\nWe will co-ordinate a variety of sessions covering different aspects of being an emerging artist. This is a great opportunity to learn from fellow peers in the Berlin music scene and to ask any questions about improving technique and style in a non-judgemental and accepting space. \n\n\n\nThe workshop sessions can take various formats\, including a mix of presentations\, round table discussions\, ask-me-anythings\, and some hands-on sessions with CDJs. We are currently searching to host a few special guest mentors that have more experience – stay tuned for more info!Unfortunately we do not have resources to host a hybrid digital/in-person event for this first edition\, but we hope to be able to consider further access options in the future. \n\n\n\nMUTUAL RESPECT AT AEQUA EVENTS:https://aequa.cc/aequa-events-info/ \n\n\n\nHYGIENE CONCEPT AT AEQUA CC:https://aequa.cc/hygiene-concept/

SUMMARY:aequa CC 2nd Anniversary - Open House
DESCRIPTION:Deutsch unten // \n\n\n\nOn March 1st\, 2020\, we officially moved in as the new tenants of the space at Exerzierstr. 14\, and the aequa Community Centre was born. \n\n\n\nWe’re super happy that we got to celebrate this space back in November with our Spacewarming\, but given that this specific two-year anniversary is a testament to how much teamwork it has taken to keep this space running through all the challenges we’ve overcome together since that opening day\, we thought it would be a shame to let March 1st pass by without any…cake. 🎂 \n\n\n\nSo join us for a little open house on Tuesday\, March 1st\, from 18:30-21:00. Come by with your same-day negative test in hand\, some food to share\, and memories or dreams to chat about with aequa community members\, old and new. Sarj will put up a slideshow of photos from our history for us all to cry and giggle over. Nothing fancy – we just want to share some space together. \n\n\n\nHope to see you there. <3 \n\n\n\n// DE // \n\n\n\nAm 1. <

SUMMARY:Queer Futures Writing Room - April
DESCRIPTION:Queer Futures Writing Room is a monthly online writing session\, self-organised by a group of writers interested in creating community around feminist science fiction writing. Together we navigate and excavate queer futurist narratives exploring near and far speculative realities of technology\, science\, bodies\, ecology and community. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach session is activated with a short writing exercise\, guided by someone different each month. It is a moment to share in each other’s writing practices and experiment with new ways of generating narratives. The rest of the session is open time to work on our own writing in each other’s virtual company\, with the option to break off into brainstorming groups. We close each session with feedback and optional sharing. \n\n\n\nThe sessions are autonomously run so any new ideas for exercises or structures are warmly welcomed. We hope the sessions will be a chance to intentionally set aside time for our writing in an experimental and exploratory space intended to nurture and energise each other’s practises. All levels of writing experience are welcome! \n\n\n\nWe’ll meet in the online platform of Gather\, a virtual meeting environment\, where you (and your avatar) can move freely through personal and shared\, digital spaces. (New to Gather? Here is short tutorial video LINK) \n\n\n\nThe sessions will be held on the last Sunday of each month and will run for ∼2 hours each. Join us at the next Queer Futures Writing Room session on  April 24th\, 16:00 CET!    \n\n\n\n\nSign up here\n\n\n\n\nAccessibility Notice:Please get in touch about any accessibility needs and we will work around those. Closed captioning can be organised within the chat bar for each session.
