DESCRIPTION:Deutsch unten // \n\n\n\nOn March 1st\, 2020\, we officially moved in as the new tenants of the space at Exerzierstr. 14\, and the aequa Community Centre was born. \n\n\n\nWe’re super happy that we got to celebrate this space back in November with our Spacewarming\, but given that this specific two-year anniversary is a testament to how much teamwork it has taken to keep this space running through all the challenges we’ve overcome together since that opening day\, we thought it would be a shame to let March 1st pass by without any…cake. 🎂 \n\n\n\nSo join us for a little open house on Tuesday\, March 1st\, from 18:30-21:00. Come by with your same-day negative test in hand\, some food to share\, and memories or dreams to chat about with aequa community members\, old and new. Sarj will put up a slideshow of photos from our history for us all to cry and giggle over. Nothing fancy – we just want to share some space together. \n\n\n\nHope to see you there. <3 \n\n\n\n// DE // \n\n\n\nAm 1. Das aequa Community Centers war geboren. \n\n\n\nWir freuen uns sehr\, dass wir diesen Raum bereits im November mit unserer Space-Einweihungsfeier zelebrieren konnten\, aber da dieses besondere zweijährige Jubiläum ein Beweis dafür ist\, wie viel Teamarbeit nötig war\, um diesen Raum durch all die Herausforderungen\, die wir seit dem Eröffnungstag gemeinsam gemeistert haben\, am Laufen zu halten\, dachten wir\, es wäre eine Schade\, wenn der 1. März ohne Kuchen vorbeigehen würde. 🎂 \n\n\n\nDeshalb laden wir euch am Dienstag\, den 1. März\, von 18:30-21:00 Uhr zu einer Mini-Version von “offenen Tür ein. Bringt euren tagesaktuellen negativen Test mit\, etwas zu Essen und Erinnerungen oder Träume\, über die ihr mit alten und neuen Mitgliedern der aequa-Community sprechen könnt. Sarj wird eine Slideshow mit Fotos aus unserer Geschichte vorführen\, bei der wir alle weinen und kichern können. DESCRIPTION:Each second Tuesday of the month\, we will hold the Capitalists Anonymous sharing circle from 7PM to 8:30PM Berlin time. For now\, due to continued worries around the number of cases in Berlin\, we will meet online. Please email capitalists_anonymous@riseup.net to receive the jit.si login for the event. \n\n\n\nThe theme on this day will be one that was requested in the last session: REWARDS ! DESCRIPTION:Tune in every third Wednesday of the month at 14:00 on https://refugeworldwide.com/\, or check out the archive. \n\n\n\nAbout aequa Radio aequa is a community for social equity\, with a community centre in Berlin Wedding. We are an international\, intersectional community united by our visions of a world in which everyone can thrive. We exist to build and support movements and spaces that work to meet people’s material and emotional needs. Mutual support and solidarity are at the heart of all we do. \n\n\n\naequa Radio is hosted by Sarj (they/them) — a Berlin-based community organiser\, facilitator\, DJ and the cofounder of aequa. Tune in for a mix of music to heal and inspire\, alongside interviews with grassroots groups\, initiatives\, projects\, collectives and individuals that are dedicated to social equity and social justice. \n\n\n\nAbout Refuge Worldwide \n\n\n\nRefuge was started as a fundraising platform working in solidarity with grassroots and non-profit organisations. In January 2021 we launched Refuge Worldwide\, a new radio station to amplify the music and issues that we care about\, broadcasting weekly from Weserstraße 166\, 12045 Berlin Neukölln. \n\n\n\nSince 2015\, among others\, we have worked with a young women’s centre\, refugee housing support associations\, a music school for marginalised persons\, social equity groups\, homelessness agencies\, and a shelter for women and young persons fleeing domestic violence. \n\n\n\nFrom our home in Berlin Neukölln we now host weekly workshops\, training programmes and classes in media\, creative fields and mental health. These are free to attend as part of our community outreach. Refuge Worldwide is also involved in a number of collaborative projects around the globe\, with likeminded collectives\, radio stations and activists.

DESCRIPTION:Isolation has become a part of life for many over the last two years. Incarcerated trans people know it all too well and receiving letters and cards can be a lifeline to a caring community. \n\n\n\nBeyond Visibility has become an annual solidarity event on March 31st\, writing letters to queer and trans people in prison. \n\n\n\nFor Trans Day Of Visibility 2022 at 7pm CET\, we will be hosting an in-person letter writing session [already full] and connecting online with other writing meet ups and individuals. If you’d like to organise your own meet up or just join us online\, it’s simple.
