Dann melde dich bei hello@aequa.cc und lass uns darüber reden! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\n\n\n\nBetter ways with our words: an introduction to more inclusive communication\n\n\n\nThis is the second workshop in “Social Equity Foundations\,” a community learning series in which members of the aequa Workshops Collective will lead interactive online meetups on topics like social equity\, intersectionality\, conscious communication\, equitable organising and peer empowerment. \n\n\n\nIn this interactive workshop\, we’ll be identifying common patterns of how bias\, dominance and even violence can be conveyed through our language choices\, with suggestions for transforming communication to be more inclusive. \n\n\n\nTopics of discussion: \n\n\n\npositioning versus otheringunderstanding microaggressionsperson-first languagelanguage better practice around issues like race\, gender\, sexuality\, body type\, dis*ability and class.\n\n\n\nIf you are new to these topics yourself or you are someone who is trying to get better at talking about these topics more courageously with friends\, family\, colleagues and collaborators\, then this workshop is for you! \n\n\n\nThese workshops are offered on a sliding-scale basis from €1 to €30. If you can regularly afford to eat out and don’t have to think often about if your bank account is in good shape\, we would ask you to pay on the higher end of the scale. If you are receiving financial support\, are regularly worried about whether you can afford to pay your rent or other basic living costs\, pay what you can. Sometime we meet online\, sometime in person. For this meeting\, we will meet online. Please email capitalists_anonymous@riseup.net to receive the jit.si login for the event. At the moment\, we only meet in English. The theme for this month is Capitalism & Success. \n\n\n\nCapitalists Anonymous is a community space to grow collective consciousness about the tight grip that capitalism holds over our everyday lives. \n\n\n\nThe structure of the gatherings comes from the collective practice of speaking and listening circles\, known as consciousness raising groups. These are well-known for the role they played in the feminist and anti-racist struggles of the 1970s. Such practice helps individuals to break personal taboos\, identify shared experiences\, and build bonds over mutual aid with regards to those experiences. The hope is that having such a space available to address capitalism will help us politicize our experiences. \n\n\n\nContact capitalists_anonymous@riseup.net with any questions you might have regarding accessibility\, etc… If you need help arranging child or dependent care so you can join us\, please reach out and we will do our best to support. In diesen vier Wochen werden die Teilnehmer/innen Gespräche führen\, die sie dabei unterstützen\, ein Leben zu klären\, sich vorzustellen\, auszuprobieren und zu gestalten\, das mehr mit ihren persönlichen Werten in Einklang steht. \n\n\n\nDie folgende Beschreibung der Reihe und das Anmeldeformular sind auf Englisch. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLife Architecture is a four-part workshop series hosted in English. Over these four weeks\, participants will have conversations that will support them in clarifying\, imagining\, testing and building a life that is more in line with their personal values. \n\n\n\nRegister here\n\n\n\nLiving our lives to fit our dreams is a challenge. Many of us are too busy and too caught up in the day-to-day details to find space to think about what we truly want or what we would change\, if we could. \n\n\n\nBy taking this course you are making that space: we give ourselves the gift of TIME to work out ways we might move from where we are now in our lives to where we want to be. It invites us to design something for ourselves in a collaborative\, supportive learning environment. \n\n\n\nThese changes are different for each one of us – maybe you want to make changes relating to your work\, to relationships and friendships\, or activism\, or just find more time for yourself and the things you care about most. Life Architecture is full of tools that can be adapted in many ways to design your own plan. \n\n\n\nEach session is three hours long (with breaks!)\, every Wednesday evening for four weeks in a row\, made up of reflection activities\, discussions\, food for thought and…yes\, a little bit of homework. \n\n\n\nIn designing this learning series\, we know that each of us experiences the world differently. We try to be as inclusive\, relevant and safe as possible\, but we know that this will always be a work in progress. All activities are by consent – you will never be pressured to do something you don’t want to. That said\, you will be invited to participate in ways that might stretch and challenge you! \n\n\n\nThe workshops will be held in English. \n\n\n\nWho is this course for?\n\n\n\nActivities are often interactive and conversation-based\, so it is important to have an open\, collaborative\, and respectful mindset. We are committed to anti-oppression and centring people who might not have access to these kinds of resources due to the many barriers in our society. If the spots fill up\, we will prioritise those people. \n\n\n\nHow much does this course cost?\n\n\n\nThe ticket prices of the paying attendees go towards paying for our facilitators\, platform\, and design time. Tickets for this course will be offered on a sliding scale from €80 – €240 (inclusive VAT) for the four weeks. If you can pay more\, you will help fund the course for those who can’t. \n\n\n\nBy default\, payment is due before the first session; however\, payment plans can be arranged if needed due to financial strain. You will receive an invoice with payment details once you are accepted to the series. \n\n\n\nAre you on Job Center? Struggling to pay rent or cover your basic costs? We strongly encourage people with less financial resources to apply for this course! We have three no-cost spots available.
