SUMMARY:Equity Reading Circle - early October
DESCRIPTION:aequa Equity Book Circle is a space dedicated to learning\, connecting\, exchanging\, and engaging with the social movement work we believe in. We come to this circle because there is a lot we don’t know\, and exploring together feels rewarding in a special way. We also come to this circle because we don’t want our individual & communal knowledge gaps to remain an excuse that stops us from being active. \n\n\n\nOur work aims at sharing resources\, testing structures\, reaffirming motivations\, visiting history\, finding focus\, encouraging curiosity. In the past\, we’ve dug into the subjects such as: climate justice\, queer & feminist approaches to movement work\, materialist “spirituality” for responding to change\, stories of refugee women in Germany\, education as a tool for liberation\, poetry attending to the postcolonial world. A central agreement we have is based on mutual aid: we aim to make room for everyone’s fluctuating capacity\, so that we each alternately feed and get fed by the group’s energy. \n\n\n\nWant to join? Respond to this email or write hello@aequa.cc to be added to our list.

SUMMARY:Neurodivergent Mutual Support Group - early October
DESCRIPTION:RSVP here to join and get the video conference link. https://airtable.com/shrLpVNPfUKPLu8FJ \n\n\n\nWednesday\, October 6th 20217pm-9pm Berlin time (UTC+1)Online \n\n\n\nJoin us for the next meeting of our Neurodivergent Peer Support Group! (More information on Neurodiversity here and here) \n\n\n\nThis group will be held in English. \n\n\n\nWHAT IS A PEER SUPPORT GROUP? \n\n\n\nPeer Support Groups are a chance for a group of individuals with a common experience (in this case being neurodivergent) to collaborate to solve problems they share. We will be able to voice our challenges\, and then be giving each other feedback\, advice and ideas to help us conquer them. This is a great opportunity to help someone struggling with the same challenges or share how you overcame them. \n\n\n\nThis is the pilot meeting in our newly founded Neurodivergent Peer Support Group. Our aim is to co-organise these meetings as a group and maintain its horizontal structure\, so anyone is welcome to step up as a facilitator. No prior experience with facilitation is needed. It’s a valuable skill for anyone and we will teach you how to do it in the safe space of the group. \n\n\n\nHOW IT WORKS \n\n\n\nWe’ll kick off the the group by having a structured conversation led by facilitators where everyone can introduce themselves\, and share either their struggles or experiences around living their life as a neurodivergent individual. We’ll then brainstorm possible ways how to support each other and decide on the future development and structure of this group. There will be a 10-minute access break in the middle of the session. \n\n\n\nWHO IS THE PEER SUPPORT GROUP FOR? \n\n\n\naequa Peer Support Groups give folks with certain affinities (for example: similar interests\, challenges or experiences) the chance to offer mutual support in the form of peer-to-peer mentorship\, feedback\, advice and discussion. This also gives a forum to wrestle with how those with shared challenges or advantages can help to build a more equitable future for all. \n\n\n\nWHO CAN JOIN? \n\n\n\nThe Neurodivergent Peer Support Group is for anyone who is neurodivergent regardless of official diagnoses or lack thereof. Neurotypical people with neurodivergent partners or kids are welcome too. \n\n\n\nThis meetup is for anyone with an open\, respectful\, and collaborative mindset. \n\n\n\nPrior attendance of a PSG meetup or aequa event is not required. \n\n\n\nRSVP here to join and get the Zoom link. https://airtable.com/shrLpVNPfUKPLu8FJ \n\n\n\nABOUT AEQUA \n\n\n\naequa is a community for social equity — a network of people united by our shared vision of a world in which everyone can thrive. We co-create spaces for mutual support\, collective empowerment\, and collaborative action. With diverse experiences and perspectives\, we are brought together by our desire to learn\, and to share what we have learned on our individual journeys.
