SUMMARY:Equity Reading Circle - early November
DESCRIPTION:aequa Equity Book Circle is a space dedicated to learning\, connecting\, exchanging\, and engaging with the social movement work we believe in. We come to this circle because there is a lot we don’t know\, and exploring together feels rewarding in a special way. We also come to this circle because we don’t want our individual & communal knowledge gaps to remain an excuse that stops us from being active. \n\n\n\nOur work aims at sharing resources\, testing structures\, reaffirming motivations\, visiting history\, finding focus\, encouraging curiosity. In the past\, we’ve dug into the subjects such as: climate justice\, queer & feminist approaches to movement work\, materialist “spirituality” for responding to change\, stories of refugee women in Germany\, education as a tool for liberation\, poetry attending to the postcolonial world. A central agreement we have is based on mutual aid: we aim to make room for everyone’s fluctuating capacity\, so that we each alternately feed and get fed by the group’s energy. \n\n\n\nWant to join? Respond to this email or write hello@aequa.cc to be added to our list. \n\n\n\nOur next book is Revolting Prostitutes: The Fight For Sex Workers’ Rights by Molly Smith and Juno Mac
