Equity Reading Circle – poetry edition

The Equity Reading Circle is a reading, discussion and action group focused on readings about or related to intersectional feminism, equality/equity, diversity, inclusion, and/or readings from authors from minority, marginalised or underrepresented groups.

We meet every other Wednesday evening at aequa CC in Wedding. The circle is open to everyone who has an open, collaborative and respectful mindset. The discussions take place in English. The length of this circle will depend on the book we select.

Starting Wednesday, October 14, we decided as a group that we would like to focus on quarter on co-reading poetry on these topics. In particular, we will read from Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan’s Postcolonial Banter poetry collection. You can buy the ebook here. The idea is that each meeting, someone else will “host” by sharing a poem or poems of their choice, which the group can then discuss. As previously, we will adopt some methods of The Circle Way, to try to share the work of organising this meetup.
