Save the date! aequa Community Centre is open and it’s time to celebrate!

As many of you know, we originally planned to open with a bang back in March 2020 — to gather our community and friends, come together and start a new adventure together.

The adventure ended up looking a bit different than we planned for, but it’s thanks to this community and so many volunteer efforts that we are happily still nestled in our cosy space in Berlin Wedding, and now feeling restored and ready to emerge into this new reality.

We’ll be coming together to share space and to dream of new adventures. We especially want to say a special thanks to all the volunteers who have given their time and energy to make this possible. Here’s what you can expect:

Music! YoutTube Karaoke!
Some of the members of the C1 Collective, who share our Workshop space at Exerzierstr. 13, will be providing music from 15:00-18:00. Then from 19:00-21:00 we’ll have signups for a fierce session of YouTube Karaoke!

Food! Coffee! Drinks!
These are all available on a donation basis. Thank you to Lulu for cooking and to Mariama for leading our drinks station.

Crafting table and Equity Zine-making!
In the downstairs lounge, we’ll have some quieter activities for those of us who might be a bit more introverted, or just like to do things with our hands while we talk. You’ll be able to colour pictures of Queer Animals, or get involved in our Equity Zine-making station! Colouring table is kid-friendly!

Open Mic Shines-and-Shoutouts
In the evening, an open mic for Shines + Shoutouts — a chance to celebrate our accomplishments together and cheer each other on, especially since we did not get to have these celebrations throughout the pandemic

Quality In-Person Hangs
And of course, there will be plenty of space to hang out on chairs and sofas inside for those who feel comfortable, or outside in the garden for those who want more ventilation and covid safety. And of course, we will have some surprises!

IMPORTANT: 3G, with COVID TEST REQUIRED
We have decided to show our solidarity to the more immunocompromised and high-risk folks in our community by requesting that everyone who attends has a negative COVID result before entering, regardless of their vaccination or recovery status. As we all know, even those in recovery and with vaccination have the possibility to pass the virus, so by all testing, we help care for and protect each other. If you can’t afford to take a test at an Apoteke or testing center, we will have some self-tests on site that you can take before entering. Thanks for cooperating – testing is caring!

GET HOME SAFE

As this is an in-person event at aequa CC, we’ll be using Get Home Safe. Donations collected in our Get-Home-Safe pot can be used by people at risk for whatever they need to get home safer: a taxi, a public transport ticket, a ride-share etc.

You can make use of the fund by asking the person in charge of any event at aequa CC. They will help you out, no questions asked.

You can support by dropping some change into the donation pot. Thank you!

Wir brauchen noch viele helfende Hände! Lasst uns wissen, ob und wie ihr helfen könnt, indem ihr dieses Formular ausfüllt.

Save the Date! Das aequa Community Centre ist eröffnet und es ist Zeit zu feiern!

Wie viele von euch wissen, wollten wir ursprünglich im März 2020 mit einem Paukenschlag eröffnen – um unsere Community und Freunde zu versammeln, zusammenzukommen und gemeinsam ein neues Abenteuer zu beginnen.

Das Abenteuer sah am Ende etwas anders aus, als wir es uns vorgestellt hatten, aber dank dieser Community und so vielen ehrenamtlichen Helfern sind wir immer noch glücklich in unserem gemütlichen Space in Berlin Wedding und fühlen uns jetzt erholt und bereit in diese neue Realität aufzubrechen.

Wir möchten euch einladen, um gemeinsam Freiraum zu teilen und von neuen Abenteuern zu träumen. Unser besonderer Dank gilt allen Freiwilligen, die ihre Zeit und Energie eingebracht haben, um dies möglich zu machen. Das erwartet euch:

• Musik! Essen! Getränke! Mehr Details zu diesen Dingen folgen in Kürze.
• Am Nachmittag gibt es einige ruhige und Bastel-Aktivitäten, um den Space kennenzulernen, oder gemeinsam auf Sofas und im Garten abzuhängen. Die Aktivitäten sind kinderfreundlich!
• Abends: ein offenes Mic für Shines + Shoutouts – eine Gelegenheit, unsere Erfolge gemeinsam zu feiern und uns gegenseitig anzufeuern, vor allem, weil wir während der Pandemie nicht dazu gekommen sind, solche Feiern abzuhalten.
• Nachts: Karaoke!
• Und natürlich einige Überraschungen 🙂

Bei dieser “3G”-Veranstaltung können wir endlich die Gesellschaft der anderen persönlich genießen. Vergesst eure Maske nicht!

Wir können es kaum erwarten, dich dort zu sehen. 🎉

KOMM GUT NACH HAUSE

Da es sich um eine vor Ort Veranstaltung im aequa CC handelt, bieten wir “Komm-Gut-Nach-Haus” an. Personen, die einem Risiko ausgesetzt sind, können Spenden aus der Komm-Gut-Nach-Haus-Dose dafür nutzen, sicher nach Hause zu kommen: für eine Taxifahrt, ein Ticket für öffentliche Verkehrsmittel, eine Mitfahrgelegenheit usw.

Du kannst die Spende nutzen, indem du bei einer aequa Veranstaltung die zuständige Person im aequa CC ansprichst. Diese wird dir mit den Spenden helfen, ohne jegliche Gegenfragen zu stellen.
